**Milan, December 18, 2023** - Plenitude and Zurich have announced the launch of Zurich Sole Protetto, a parametric insurance policy offered at no extra cost to Plenitude customers who purchase a domestic photovoltaic system. Active for three years, the policy automatically compensates homeowners when their installation receives less solar irradiation than expected.

This is the first parametric policy of its kind for residential solar in Italy, and it represents a significant step forward in de-risking home energy investments through objective, data-driven triggers rather than traditional loss adjustment.

### How Zurich Sole Protetto Works

The policy is powered by an algorithm that combines photovoltaic system data with historical meteorological records dating back to January 2005 for the installation's specific location. When irradiation falls below the expected threshold, compensation is triggered automatically-no claim needs to be filed.

**Exante**, Zurich's technology partner, monitors real-time meteorological data, calculates irradiation values, and certifies whether predefined parameters have been exceeded. If an indemnity is due, it is paid automatically on a semiannual basis directly to the customer's bank account.

Through a dedicated customer portal, policyholders can review historical irradiation data, compare it against current readings, and track any compensation received-bringing complete transparency to a process that traditionally relies on paperwork and subjective assessment.
